If there’s one crystal with a reputation for doing the most, it’s Moldavite. This deep green tektite has been jaws and blowing up timelines for hundreds of years.

Moldavite is actually not a crystal; it’s a tektite! Tektites are from the universe…literally. These large meteorites or asteroids impact earth, thus creating a natural glass that is extremely powerful. Other tektites include Lybian Desert Glass (Moldavite’s more gentle younger sister), Georgiaite (Moldavite’s bigger…and very expensive sister), and Darwin Glass.

Moldavite formed about 15 million years ago when a meteorite slammed into what is now the Czech Republic. The impact was so intense it vaporized surrounding rock, creating a green, swirled, almost alien-looking substance that solidified mid-air and rained down as droplets of otherworldly glass.

Moldavite is a crash course in transformation. People call it the stone of cosmic acceleration because it doesn’t gently whisper your next lesson, it bulldozes anything not aligned. It’s intense, chaotic, and oh-so-cleansing.

🧪 How to Use Moldavite Without Losing Your Mind

Think of Moldavite as the espresso shot of the crystal world: not for the faint of heart, best used with intention, and probably not something you want to reach for during your Mercury Rx breakdown.

Here’s how I recommend using it:

• Pair it with grounding stones. Think smoky quartz, black tourmaline, or hematite. Moldavite will lift you up, but you need something to tether you to the Earth while you get the cosmic download.

• Use it during cord cuttings or breakups. It severs ties fast. Emotionally, energetically, and even logistically.

• Keep it on your altar, not under your pillow. Trust me on this one unless you want to dream about being abducted by your shadow self.

💔 Moldavite Ended Friendships & Business Partnerships

When I first started working with Moldavite, I was in the thick of friendships as well as business matters that I had outgrown; both spiritually and emotionally. I was working with an organization that no longer felt in alignment, but I was holding on out of loyalty. Around the same time, two friendships in my life started to feel… off. A note about investing in moldavite: Remember, this is a stone that will never repopulate. What’s on earth is what we have. There are also a lot of fakes out there, so do be sure to get yours from a reputable vendor! Many sellers will provide you with a COA.

I’d been wearing my ring several times a week…the energy can be quite airy. I remember my first week feeling very disembodied; which is a common symptom working with this stone. Think of this as a spiritual detox.

Within the month, I was removed from that role unexpectedly (but also… perfectly). It was one of those moments where I felt disrespected and heartbroken; yet free. A few days later, one of the friendships dissolved after a betrayal followed by a confrontation.
